Jason attended Clemson University for his undergraduate work and followed with a degree in Physical Therapy from the Medical University of SC. He has worked extensively with athletes of all ranges and post surgical patients. He was a board certified Sports Certified Specialist while also an active lecturer on golf performance and injury prevention.
He played baseball for Clemson University and is currently a world ranked professional long drive golfer. He also enjoys SCUBA diving, basketball, softball, Isshin-Rhy Karate, and is an active member at Newspring Church. Jason lives in Anderson with his 2 rescue Weimaraner dogs.
Amy graduated from College of Charleston in 2003 and then from the Medical University of SC in 2006. She moved to Anderson from her hometown of Fort Mill, SC, and began working for Advanced PT in 2014 after getting married to an Anderson native. She has worked in outpatient orthopedics with patients of all ages since 2003, and this is her favorite physical therapy setting.
Amy and her husband are very excited to be expecting their first baby in August of 2015. She enjoys watching baseball and college football, as well as exercising, cooking/baking, reading and doing crafty projects.
Joseph graduated from Clemson University in 1997 and received a BS in health sciences. He went on to work for Duke University at the surgical oncology research facility, spending a year and a half working on vaccine trials for HIV. He then returned to Clemson with a corporate scholarship for biomedical engineering, receiving an MS in 2002. He spent time working in research and development for medical devicess before returning to school and getting his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Emory university in 2007. He has since become a specialist in vestibular rehabilitation.
Joseph is married, and enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, golfing, cycling and other outdoor activities, and traveling. His favorite sports teams are the Clemson Tigers.
Leigh-Ann first graduated with a degree in Physical Education from Winthrop University while playing basketball and throwing for the track team. Post graduation she played professional basketball in Sweden. Upon returning to the Upstate she earned her PTA degree from Greenville Technical College. Leigh-Ann joined Advanced Physical Therapy in 2012 and is excited to use her orthopedic skills to help individuals return to an active lifestyle.
She recently received training in Kinesio Taping®, which is a taping technique to help facilitate the body’s natural healing process that benefits an array of musculoskeletal/sports injuries or inflammatory conditions.
She is currently a certified high school basketball official and enjoys participating in sports, triathlons, outdoor activities, and is an active member in her church.
Lindsey graduated in 2008 from Jefferson Community and Technical College. She has worked in a variety of settings from skilled rehab to hospital and outpatient.
She moved to SC in 2013, and to Greenville a year later. She is a Gamecock for life! Lindsey enjoys time with her family, water sports, the outdoors and rescuing animals.
Leigh received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Clemson University and has built her career over the last 15 years in both healthcare and banking.
She is married with three children, and enjoys volunteering at both her church and her children’s schools. In her free time, she loves cheering her kids on as they pursue dance, soccer, football, baseball and basketball.
Missy has 19 years experience in front desk operations, insurance and billing for physical therapy and other medical procedures. She has been with Advanced PT since 2010 as office and billing manager for all 3 facilities.
Missy and her husband Robby have been married for 20 years, and have 2 daughters – Taylor and Reagan. She enjoys watching her girls play softball and going on hikes with the family. She is also a big fan of college sports and the Atlanta Braves.
Tonya worked for 10 years in the Insurance Industry (5 years with State Farm, and 5 years with independent agencies). She left the insurance world to pursue her dream of owning a bakery, but after 3 years of working 75+ hours a week, decided she missed her family and wanted her life back. She began working at Advanced PT in February 2015. As a real people person, she feels she now has the best of both worlds – family time and interaction with patients, some of whom were bakery customers!
Tonya and her husband have a son, who loves music, and a daughter, who is passionate about softball. The Whitleys are a house divided between the Braves and the Yankees.
